Welcomed by a Ping
Poem by Beth Moran
A reminder of long-gone vendors of wares As the ping welcomes those who arrive. Listening to worlds shared with care and with love Performing can help us to thrive. Positions, permissions to chat with our fingers The memories shaped and recorded now linger. The impact stays with us, emotions connected Creative solutions by which we’re affected.
Slippages
Poem by Helen Bowstead
She dusts in the nude. Housework makes you hot, When you hit ‘a certain age’. I clean my bath naked, Crouched down in the tub. In yellow Marigolds, I scrub at the mould. With my husband’s toothbrush.
This poem was written in response to Gayle Letherby‘s poem, ‘The woman who cleans in the nude (and other secrets from Trelawny Lane)‘. Gayle read her poem at the conference and you can listen to her reading it on Slide 6 (8:16 on the video) of her presentation within the ‘Presentation Content’ page:
